Does Workstation 15 Pro support 32-bit operating systems?
A Workstation 15 Pro requires a 64-bit host operating system. In the Workstation 15 Pro virtual machine, you can still use 32-bit Windows and Linux guest OS.
Do Technology Preview members need to remove Technology Preview software before installing the latest released version?
Yes, before upgrading to the latest released version, you must remove the Technology Preview version using the VMware Workstation removal tool (included).
Will the virtual machines created using the Technology Preview version be lost?
Not. When you uninstall the Technology Preview version and install the latest released version of VMware Workstation, all virtual machines created by using the Technology Preview version will be saved.
What equipment is needed to work with VMware Workstation Pro?
VMware Workstation Pro runs on regular x86 systems with 64-bit Intel and AMD processors running 64-bit Windows and Linux host operating systems.
System requirements
VMware recommends the following features.
• Intel or AMD x86 64-bit processor released in 2011 or later
• 1.3 GHz clock speed or higher
• Minimum 2 GB of RAM, 4 GB recommended
Install Workstation Pro:
• To install the application, you need 1.2 GB of free disk space.
• Each virtual machine requires additional hard disk space.
• Information about recommended free disk space for specific guest operating systems is provided by the suppliers.
Supported processors released in 2011 or later, except the following.
• Intel Atom processors based on Bonnell microarchitecture, 2011 (for example, Atom Z670 / Z650, Atom N570)
• Intel Atom processors based on the Saltwell microarchitecture, 2012 (for example, Atom S1200, Atom D2700 / D2500, Atom N2800 / N2600
• AMD processors based on Llano and Bobcat microarchitectures (for example, codenamed Hondo, Ontario, Zacate, Llano)
