Femap is a CAD-independent pre- and postprocessor from Siemens PLM Software for Finite Element Analysis (FEA) analysis.

This means that Femap is the link between the user and the solver, the core that performs calculations in engineering analysis tasks. The Femap system, integrated with the NX Nastran solver, runs on Microsoft Windows, is part of the Velocity Series product line and is an independent, fully functional environment for modeling, simulating and evaluating product analysis results.


The Femap 11.3 Win64 system based on the NX Nastran 10p2 Win64 solver allows you to: analyze the dynamics and strength of structures, machines and structures, obtain a solution of non-stationary nonlinear spatial problems, problems of composites and composite structures mechanics, construction and technological mechanics, perform heat transfer analysis, Mechanics of fluid and gas related multidisciplinary tasks.

The basic Femap modules with NX Nastran allow to carry out basic types of engineering analysis, such as linear static analysis, analysis of frequencies and forms of free oscillations, analysis of structural stability loss, analysis of stationary and non-stationary heat transfer problems, and basic possibilities of nonlinear analysis. Basic nonlinear analysis includes the consideration of such nonlinearities as the geometric (large deformations, displacements, tracking loads) and physical (accounting for nonlinear materials - plasticity, creep, viscoelasticity), allowance for contact interaction for small displacements - "linear" contact, allowance for contact with the continuity condition .

The Advanced Nonlinear module is used in the analysis of large nonlinearities (including deformation [elastomer elastomers], taking into account the spatial contact interaction), the combination of various types of nonlinearities, and also in the modeling and calculation of fast nonlinear dynamic processes based on an explicit integration scheme. Femap includes three additional modules: Femap Flow Solver - allows you to perform analysis of hydro- and gas dynamics; Femap Advanced Thermal Solver - provides a set of capabilities for analyzing heat and mass transfer, including modeling of fluid channels, coupled convection and analysis of hydro-, gas-dynamic flows; Femap Thermal Solver is a solution for temperature analysis and heat transfer analysis. Femap is used by specialists of design organizations to model complex structures, systems and processes, such as satellites, aircraft, military hardware, heavy construction equipment, cranes, marine transport and process equipment. Femap provides the solution of complex problems of engineering analysis in various industries, for example, such as aerospace, helicopter construction, defense industry and shipbuilding.
