So many virtual instruments libraries are created with the art of production in mind. Olafur and the Spitfire team created a more nuanced brief here with the writer at heart. Everyone has that piano, that guitar that instrument they love to write on, everyone has that place that inspires them. "What if we could create a set of tools that could enable anyone to take an inspiring collection of instruments recorded in an inspiring setting to write with anywhere?" they asked themselves.

A truly original and inspiring set of tools, conceived in Reykjavík, Iceland, recorded in Berlin, Germany and realised in London, England that draws on the talents on some true independent thinkers who are shining a new light on classical European instruments, how to play them, use them, abuse them and record and process them with a totally fresh approach.

In true Spitfire fashion, we take 4 vintage keyboard workhorses and create a definitive, deep sampled, musical rendering of these classic instruments. The finest maintained Electric Piano, Stage Piano, Electric Keyboard Bass & Electric Clavichord, by the finest of players via a unique, classic and unbeatable signal path by an engineering great.

Impact Soundworks has launched the fourth title in its Ventus Ethnic Winds series for Native Instruments Kontakt. Pan Flutes is performed by Josh Plotner and features the evocative, breathy sounds of the Romanian Nai pan flute and haunting tones of the Andean Toyo bass pan flute.

SOLO CELLO DESIGNER Virtual Instrument VST is a massive collection of over 1.800 phrases. The intention of the library was to sample completely realistic Solo Cello by creating an incredible collection of musical phrases. We programmed the library in a way that gives you maximum control over the phrases and literally allows you to sculpt 100% realistic solo cello performances. It was deliberately designed to support, augment and in some cases replace existing solo cello libraries. Essentially this library takes over where normal multi-samples (ex. legato, sustains) can’t perform. We call this concept, deep phrase-sampling.
