Gumbo is a Swedish combo, which is devoted to the R & B from New Orleans. With a program of (almost exclusively) their own songs, they let the music of Professor Longhair and The Meters dominate the band's influences - without sacrificing quality or directly imitating. Rock solid and entertaining. With its "Carnival Blues" and catchy live shows Gumbo knocks off any blues audience. They have won the jury prize at the Mönsterås Blues Festival in 2001, and at the Torrekulla Blues & Jazz Festival 2002. The recipe is simple: six musicians with great swing sensations, having great fun and a singer surpassed by very few other front-men. This one keeps ya movin'.
