In this Intro to Megascans Studio course, we use the Megascans resource to find and use the basic texture scans to create interesting dynamic materials. Students will be able to more competently evaluate textures based on color, visual characteristics of textures and how to mix textures based on color, understanding how this affects the visual color balance.

Students will learn how to use Megascans Studio software to get simple textures and tell a story by mixing textures, understanding how materials behave in the real world and how to use color and reflection to convey this story. Through the use of visual narration in textures, we learn how to use Megascans Studio to create stunning textures. This course will teach you how to use Marmoset Toolbag 2 as a way to visualize quality art screenshots. While learning Toolbag 2, the course covers the qualities that will make your rendering portfolio ready and complete. The course examines how to set the final presentation of the asset on how to use the Marmoset Toolbag for lighting to improve the final image. Also, you'll learn how to simulate camera effects and post-effects to improve final renderings.
